Our Ministry

The WEE Center was established in 1976 as a community outreach of the First Baptist Church of Rockville. We welcome families of all faiths to join the Center. The children have opportunities throughout the day to hear age-appropriate Bible stories, sing Bible related songs and pray with their teachers and classmates.

Hours/Meals

The Center is open Monday-Friday between the hours of 7:00am-6:00pm We offer both full time and part time enrollment options. Tuition includes breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks prepared on site by our cook. Menus are approved by the Maryland State Department of Education School and Community Nutrition Programs Branch to ensure meals are well-rounded and meet the nutritional needs of preschool-aged children. The Center has experience with and is able to make special dietary accomodations for children with allergies and various food restrictions.

Staff

The WEE Center staff is made up of many diverse and interesting individuals who are outstanding teachers and Christian caregivers. These individuals work as a team, both in the classrooms and Center-wide, to provide the kind of setting where preschool children can learn and grow. Our teachers are skilled in the field of Early Childhood Education and meet or exceed educational requirements mandated by the Maryland State Department of Education. We are fortunate to have a very low turnover rate with staff. Staff retention is a key element in providing a stable environment for children. All staff members are certified in Child and Adult CPR as well as First Aid.
